Dear Sir,

This is to humbly inform you that I, X Y Z, am resigning from my position as cashier of the Chennai branch of the state bank of India with immediate effect. The last day of work will be the 31st of July 2012, which effectively should serve as an adequate two week notice. I am in the process of accepting another position as senior branch manager at the Chennai branch of ICICI bank.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the diligent and earnest guidance you have provided me as your immediate supervisor. Under your watch, I have learnt a great deal and have become skilled in the techniques that are required of a modern manager.

I have been extremely lucky to have been associated with an institution as great and reputed as the State Bank of India. I regret the severing of our professional relationship but would like to thank you in no uncertain terms. I wish the very best to you personally and to this institution for the future.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,
