Anatomy of a Sales Letter

When writing a sales letter, the name of the person who is being addressed and his designation are to be mentioned at the top. It must be followed by the date. Further, the body of the letter i.e. the content of the letter must be elaborated. The anatomy of a sales letter is as follows

Dear Mr. Rahul,

The body of the letter must be written here after mentioning the name of the person who is to be addressed. The main motive of the letter must be written in the first paragraph. After mentioning the reason for writing the letter, the next paragraph must contain a brief description about the motive and the reason for such a motive. Further, the paragraph must contain a brief description about the company that is offering various services, particularly the sales department of the company. Any aspect relating to the sales of the company is to be elaborated in the second paragraph of the letter.

The last paragraph must include the conclusion. It must include the decision made by the company/person with regard to the sales department of a company/person. Any date that has to be mentioned can be mentioned in this paragraph. After completing the body, the letter must contain:
